    Rough-legged Buzzard? - the Netherlands

The reason I say this is over the years I've trained and seen numerous light Buzzards in captivity which moulted out into normal Buzzard colouration.. The 18.5 year old adult pictured does look to my eyes at least like a genuine lucistic/albino.. Light morphs obviously do exist.. My point...

    Rough-legged Buzzard? - the Netherlands

Would it be fair to say most of the light morph Common Buzzards are mostly young/juveniles which for the most part eventually moult out into classic Common Buzzard colouration?? or do some keep their light colouration? I can't say I've ever seen pictures or otherwise of breeding adults of this...

    Eider uk ?

That looks even less like an Eider.. It's not just the bill.. the head and body markings are all wrong too.. Eiders don't have a dark head and neck..

    Eider uk ?

Yes but the bill is all wrong.. It's too flat.. I see Eiders week in and week out.. They're very angular triangular wedge-shaped bills.. Much thicker at the base than this bird..

    Eider uk ?

Looks like a juv domestic.. Bill too long and flat for an Eider.. I don't think any ducks are moulting this time if the year... They're in full breeding plumage...

A couple from Phillip Island, Victoria Australia

How can it be spot-on if it's not wedged? i.e. pointed.. If it was a moult issue surely there would be uneven flight feathers too.. unless it's tail damage... then I'd go with Black breasted buzzard only because it looks smaller than a Wedge-tail to me..

A couple from Phillip Island, Victoria Australia

That was my first thought.. but the tail is all wrong.. It still looks like a Black kite to me.. I just read their range covers most of Australia.. I can't see how it could be anything else..

    Austin Tx -- Hawk??

I'm no expert.. but from what I've seen the barring on the chest of the Southern Caracara goes lower down than the Northern.. The general colouration appears a little duller.. Of course I have limited experience and knowledge and this may be due to pictures I've seen up to date... I've always...

    Austin Tx -- Hawk??

Presumably Northern Crested because there's a Southern Crested much further south... Northern being the more striking of the two..

    Egret, Suffolk UK

I think your seeing the light underside of the bill which darkens to the tip.. I don't think the full length of the bill is visible in the picture which gives it the shorter bill look of a Cattle egret.. You always have colour variations in the bills of birds as seasons change and the younger...
