    Stiff focusing

Definitely not. Stiff focus requires a proper professional service

Major issue with East Coast Binocular Repairs - 5 month delay returning binoculars!

I sent a pair of Zeiss 7X42 Classics to Gary a couple of weeks ago for a service. I posted them on a Wednesday and collected them the following Tuesday. I've used Gary on a few occasions now and cannot speak highly enough of him. A true expert.

Zeiss SFL 8x40 Rubber Coating becomes Bubbled

I had an early copy of the 8x40 SFL. A really sharp binocular but the focus was very stiff and did not improve and the rubber armouring began to lift very slightly close to both eyepieces. Zeiss exchanged them for a new pair without any fuss. The focus on the replacement pair was delightfully...

    Zeiss Victory SF 10x42 ages?

    Fair enough

    Zeiss Victory SF 10x42 ages?

I guess Zeiss have changed their policy because I believe Gary no longer sends the SFs back to Germany but does the entire process in house.

    Zeiss Victory SF 10x42 ages?

Interesting because Gary who posted this is the official Zeiss UK repair guy so he should know!

Selling el 8x32 second hand binoculars.

An unused 2019 model would be worth around £1100 to £1200. They are out of production now but still very sought after

    Kowa TS613 Primary ED

Suggest you get the newer generation of 30X Wide if you proceed as the original TSN is decidedly inferior IMHO

How do you carry your binoculars?

I use the Rick Young harness with Swarovski 8.5 x 42 ELs. A brilliant product and you can buy adaptors that mean the metal rings do not make contact with the binos lugs. No more neck strain!

Seeking advice - lightweight bino in the £150 range

Take a look at the Opticron Taiga 8x25. Excellent value for general use, well made, very good optical quality with their reverse porro design and a shade under £100. You will be surprised how good they are.

    Billingham Galbin

I use the Galbin 8 with my Zeiss SFL 8x40. Beautifully made with quality materials and a huge improvement over the Zeiss supplied one.

    Zeiss 10x40 SFL - Roger Vine's Review

East Coast tell me that all European warranty work including the UK will be done in Germany and will not need to go to Japan. In time, UK warranty work will be done in the UK by East Coast who are, coincidentally, a superb company to deal with.

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

And they differ in focus. Both SFLS that I have tried had a very stiff focus by comparison.

Zeiss SFL 8x40, A Field Review

Recently, I've had an opportunity to look at single examples of the SFL 8x40 at two different UK dealers. On one occasion in sunlight, the other in overcast conditions. I own some black Zeiss 8x42 SFs and was interested in the possibility of the savings to be had in size and weight. I didn't...

New Zeiss binos 8x40 SFL and 10x40 SFL

UK price to be £1550 for 8x40, £1600 for 10x40 at launch. Quite a jump from the Conquest price range

    8x30 Eii Equivalent Replacement

How do you carry your binoculars?

Another vote for the Rick Young harness. Works brilliantly with heavier bins such as my Zeiss 8x42 SF or a much lighter Swaro 8x32 EL
