Yes, there are previous sightings of Jabiru in Texas, but I don't think any of them have been this far from the border of Tx and Mexico. That is intresting. I think something must be happening to drive these birds out of their normal ranges. Is something major going on that we don't know about? Do the birds know something that we don't? and if there is something going on, when will we know what it is?- ebonwolf

Yeah, that is pretty neat, didn't notice that before. I can't wait to try out my 500mm lens, and get some better pics hopefully. I'm still fairly new at taking pics, but maybe I'll get better. Now that I have a decent digital camera, though the olypus ultra zoom I had, did fairly well, too.- ebonwolf

It's a national wildlife refuge. The town it's near is called Eagle Lake. Attwater's Prarie Chicken national wildlife refuge. Is one of the last places where Attwater's prarie chickens can be found, though where the live is closed off to the public. As there are less than 50 of them left, so...- ebonwolf

Newbie sighted pink javelin skyward in TX
texas flamingos I think that most flamingos in texas are escapees from captivity, there has been one sited in texas recently and I wish I had gone to see it while it was closer. There was a flamingo for a few weeks in Texas City, but it left last months I believe. Though there is now one down...
