    Just down a bit from the fens pools on the canal near footshole, is a male mandarin in amongst the mallards. Been told its been about for three weeks

    I did and they said the hide was open as normal. But when I got to the gate a sign was up saying no admittance. I have walking difficulties so was not very happy.

    Three herons in tall trees on railway embankment this morning, with a lot of calling .

    2 goosanders on the golden puddle. Lots of canada geese and ducks as per usuall. Green woodpecker was foraging well.

    I own this lense and its soft at 600 full stop. I pull it back a bit and always use f8 for bird shots. By the way I use a nikon. Got some wonderfull images. Just try what I said see if it makes any difference.

    Tripod for use with a tammy 150-600

    Hi all am after a steady tripod for use with a nikon d7200 and tamron 150-600 combo. Been told I could get away with a monopod as the set up isnt that heavy. I also have trouble walking so it has to be light as well. What do you recomend for me. Thanks andy.

    Over-wintering Hoopoe in Britain

    I thought the hoopoe in a certain West mids area would have left by know. Its been chased all over the place by people trying to get pictures. Why when you have 500mm prime lenses do you need to get almost on top of the bird??
