    aka New Swillinton ings, was in cracking form today with a Bewick swan among about 25 whoopers on the main lake, at least two black necked grebes, bittern booming, black headed gulls going berserk, peregrine on the fringes in the evening, plus at least three short eared owls doing a fly-past.

    Montagu's harrier (presumably pair) reported back at Blacktoft Sands today. on Rare bird Alert. Well worth a visit, I'd say.

    Blacktoft

    Hello all, first post on this forum. Has anyone been to Blacktoft recently? Seems very poorly bird-populated and a bit run-down compared to a month or two ago. They have closed one of the main hides for maintenance on the lagoon today and water levels are a bit high on most of the other lakes...
