    A Tale of Three Swarovskis

Hermann, Agreed! Just like Jerry, after installing the GA eye cups on my leatherette 8X30 W, their usability and comfort level went way up!! Had my interest not peaked for the overall armored 8X30 W GA model, I'd probably not have sold the "contrast cool looking" leatherette! :t: Ted

    A Tale of Three Swarovskis

Although the FOV is narrow for a 7X42, IMO the optical clarity, sharpness, color fidelity and wide sweet spot (>80%) are excellent, easily equaling or surpassing their natural good looks!! Now, the armored GA version (stout as an armored tank) isn't as sexy, but has it's own rugged beauty to...

    A Tale of Three Swarovskis

Agreed Jerry. Before I sold the Habicht 8X30 W I had, I installed on it the GA eye cups for overall eye comfort and ease of view...worked great! However, my 1st Habicht porro, the 10X40 W GA, spoiled me so much on the ergonomics, durability and ruggedness of the GA series that I then sought the...

    A Tale of Three Swarovskis

Henry, No problem...their condition does beg...New! Peeking at the bay now and then, I've seen other used 6X30M's come up, but never any 8X30 W GA's! :-C The 10X40 WMGA (2015) and the 7X42 MGA (2013) were purchased New and of course, are still being produced by Absam and can be obtained...

    A Tale of Three Swarovskis

Henry, The 6X30M is a 1991 model I procured off the bay. Had issues with the oculars, but Absam took great care of that...their optics are Superb and their overall all condition is 9.5 out of 10! The 1999 8X30W GA was secured from a very nice gentleman here at BF (after much begging, swearing...

    Swarovski repair comparision

PM, The EL 10X50 you have has a "Lockable Diopter". Now, this new EL Diopter function can be a TWO-Step operation!! If memory serves me correctly, when the diopter Center Disk is turned 1\2 Clockwise, the lock engages and it becomes impossible to pull out for any readjustment, be it on purpose...

    Swarovski repair comparision

I've had three repairs in the past 5 years (1 new SLC, 1 used ELSV, 1 very used Habicht Poro)...all had perfect performance in their returned state! :t: Which of the Swaros did you send in to SONA, and for what reason?? If there's an issue with your repair, sure they would expedite return...

    Swarovski Bino warranty?

SBB, You are correct. The "10 year" warranty is granted from Absam, Austria and carries a global "10 year warranty" on all of their optics! However, the last statement area, "Remarks for the United States of America", clarifies that if purchased from SONA..."For Further Information, Please...

    EL 10x50 - Initial thoughts

Maybe, the "8x32 T* FL"!? Wow, might also consider this Great Deal on Razor's EL 8X32 SV's, if they are still available!!! Ted

    EL 10x50 - Initial thoughts

Swarovski Service is second to None!! :king: To my eyes, I find the 10X50 SV (and all the ELs) to have a neutral and very accurate Color Fidelity...directly comparable to my unaided sight visionary FOV! I also find the HT has a very accurate and natural presentation of the color spectrum...

    EL 10x50 - Initial thoughts

Sam, Although with SP prisms, the EL 10X50SV roof has a 9mm greater objective distance than any ocular IPD setting. IMHO, this is enough offset to offer a very nice picture window step in view with an excellent stereopsis DOF. I also do not see CA in the EL 10X50, but it has to be bad for me to...

    Hello

Hello Dan and Welcome to BF! :hi: I've heard good reports about these Opticron Adventurer II WP binoculars. Just starting out in birding, thus I'd recommend staying with 8X optics (like an 8X42). You will have a wider FOV (field of view), a less shaky and more stable sight picture and...

    Review: EL SV 10x50

Actually, appears one individual posted Five "5 star" reviews with no supportive comments (must have been EXTREMELY Pleased |:S|). I happen to agree with a 5-star rating, but did add a few -experiences in the field- personal user comments to support my rated opinions! Ted
