folding pocket monocular....
anybody know if the newer Noblex 8x21 is as good or better than the older Docter labeled units....and for that matter are you just better off staying with a clean Zeiss Turmon in good condition...??….- gunut

HG...HG APO gone from Minox site listings... Looks like they removed the top of their line HG and HG APO bins from their listing....looks like the BL is now their top offering.....:smoke: -
Minox Nautic BN DC series.....7x50
Any opinions in comparison to other available brands...Steiner, Fujinon, Bushnell....ect... I just picked up one and aside from the size/weight they give a v-nice view....will be using these when fishing off the breakwater on lake Michigan...and watching girls...I mean gulls at the beach.....;) -

Sacrilege????
I don't know if bringing this forward is sacrilege or not, but are any of the sub alpha grade modern binoculars actually designed to be repairable..you know....like the old 50-70s vintage units......seems like more and more if something goes wrong with any of them they just replace them and I...- gunut

Is Minox giving up on the top tier binoculars???
Seems like they are closing out the HG and HG APO models instead of upgrading them...have seen them listed on some dealer sites as no longer being produced.... and I don't see anything NEW to fill the top position in their lineup....maybe they will just be an entry and middle class operation... -
what binocular or optics related gifts did you get for Christmas

Zeiss Pocket
I posted earlier this year that I sent my 8x25 Terra in for repair [mid May] they said they would be replacing the unit instead of repairing....but said they had none in stock so I would have to wait for a shipment to come in....well finally in mid December they notified me that they didn't... -
Do you keep your car/truck bins
in the vehicle throughout the winter.....it gets down to 15/20 below here in winter...In the summer you can keep them under the seat where its cooler..but there is no hiding from the cold....- gunut

US Zeiss Repair
I sent a 8x25 Terra in for repair [loose hinge] 2 months ago.....They said they were replacing the binocular...but did not have any in stock and would send it when they get their next shipment..... Two questions.....will they send me an E-Mail when they ship the new unit so I can watch for... -
how do the newer roof prism bins hold up
how do the newer roof prism binoculars hold up to being made a car/truck binocular.....I mean left in the truck/car in its case and say slid under the seat....all summer and all winter long....do the seals hold up??...do the greases dry up???....and has anybody run an testing on this issue????- gunut

Are we going to see a mid to alpha grade with built in digital camera
a lot of folks like photos of what they see through their bins......I know a lot of optics and photo companies would like to keep them separate....at least for the higher grade instruments of each discipline ...I know there have been some cheap bin attempts and some with monocular....none have...- gunut

recently picked up a vintage Leitz monocular...
porro design...marked on prism plate .... Ernst Leitz Wetzlar 8x No123064 black leather prism covering with nice condition black leather strap....came in nice black leather case with black leather strap.....everything in very nice condition... -
8x32 Terra vrs 8x30 Conquest[non HD]
Which would you prefer....you can pick up the terra for 300-350....the old style Conquest can be found NIB for 425 -475.....sometimes even better deals can be found on either.....being so close in price which would be the better choice??...... -
Do the owners of high priced bin use aftermarket hard cases to transport them in....
Do any of you use aftermarket hard cases to transport your binoculars I have been using Pelican foam lined hard cases...seems to be relatively cheap protection....- gunut

just picked up my 2ND 8x30 diafun LNIB
had the first pair for a number of years.....light weight, v-good glass, nice little blue Zeiss badge ;)......cut a few corners quality wise [for Zeiss], not the best ergonomic design but function fine.. cant go wrong for the used price....
