    Best budget Spotting Scope?

I have one of these :- https://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/acuter-grandvista-ds-16-48-x-65a-dual-speed-spotting-scope.html It's decent enough for my needs. Many budget scopes really close down at the top end of the magnification. One of the advantages of this scope is that you can change the...

    Helios Fieldmaster ED60 DS

Sub £200 might be difficult, but https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acuter-Grandvista-Speed-16-48x65-Spotting/dp/B00L13CIA0 The zoom lens can narrow the FOV at higher end. It accepts Standard 1.25" Push-fit Telescope Eyepieces - so you can also get a WA lens further on eg...

    Hawke (UK) customer service

Just to say a big thanks to Hawke UK. Dioptre ring on my Frontier ED 8X43s got absolutely stuck. A few emails of suggestions resulted in having the binos sent to Hawke for sorting, with no charges. Immediate return of post too. Cheers.

    First spotting scope advice

This is what I have http://www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk/acuter-grandvista-ds-16-48-x-65a-dual-speed-spotting-scope.html Well under budget - and certainly not a cheap £50 scope! It also takes a 1.25" eyepiece, so you can experiment with both zoom and fixed EPs from other makers.

    New Eyepiece

I have an Acuter Grandvista 65, with the normal 16-48x zoom eyepiece. The scope takes a 1.25" EP and I would like to add a fixed eyepiece of say between 12mm and 20mm, which should give between 20x - 30x. Any recommendations?

    Best bins £150-£200?

So many questions - power; weatherproof; porro/roof; eye relief etc etc. My tuppence (user of Hawke, Zeiss, Helios, Opticron) are these for value for money and glass performance! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B005S3AIBA/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

    Opticron Service UK

Just to say thanks to Opticron. Sent back a pair of SR GAs last Friday (25th) - rubber protection coming away from body. Collection arranged and paid for by Opticron. Back in the post today, as new! Great service.

    Which of these binoculars?

My first binoculars were the Helios AM-6 and I like them a lot! Value for money have a look at these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B005S3AIBA/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1504164708&sr=8-1&keywords=opticron+sr+ga+8x32&condition=new . 70th Birthday present

You may be right. The focussing is OK. If he's not used to porros, and needs really good eye relief then perhaps not. But they can always be returned (as far as I am aware!). In reality, buying binoculars for someone else is always awkward :-)

    70th Birthday present

I have these (amongst others at 3 and 4 times the full price). I think they are good value for money (see the lower price £139 choices). https://www.amazon.co.uk/Opticron-30320-SR-GA-8x32-Binocular/dp/B005S3AIBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501010059&sr=8-1&keywords=opticron+sr+ga+32x8 Peter

    Best of the mid-range 8x32s?

I have Helios 8x32; Hawke 8x43 (go to binos); Zeiss 10x42 ED Conquest and recently Opticron SR GA 8X32. I'm sure all the above companies will offer decent mid price options - especially Hawke and Zeiss. BUT, the one that have impressed me the most for the price are the Opticrons -...
