    London Ontario Canada...

LOL! I guess I am hoping for a unique sighting... female and immature birds often leave me stumped... this one was perched for some time and was probably waiting for me to leave so it could drop an egg into a nearby nest ;)

I will likely have my head in the sand afterwards... this was in a marshy area but doesn't look like a female red winged and wondered if it is a bunting... please don't tell me it's a cowbird :egghead:

Hi all! I am reluctant to call this and would appreciate your expertise... I sighted this bird two days ago (May 13, 2018) near the Thames River in east London (Canada). Unfortunately I was unable to hear it's call or view it in flight. Any help is appreciated. Online guides suggest the...

I.D Waterfowl migration London Ontario Canada

Thank-you Jeff! Last I saw these was over a decade ago. A large colony on an island along Lake Ontario and a fair distance from mainland. The man made pond I saw it at today is at least 50 miles away from closest lake but there are many swamp and marsh like areas here in London which is also...

I.D Waterfowl migration London Ontario Canada

I managed to get a few photos of a sighting in a small pond today, Sept 18/16. Is this a Merganser? female or juvenile? it was swimming with mallards and similar in size but not as plump. Wingspan was broad and and mostly dark from my angle. The beak is what has me confused as it appears to be...

Hello everyone! How common are American Robins with white markings? Sorry for the poor quality of my photo... it was taken with my phone This spring I had the pleasure of sighting hundreds of Robins in a schoolyard and surrounding parks of my neighbourhood... how common is this occurrence?

    Heron/Bittern ~ North America, Canada, Ontario, London ~ Sighted July 30, 2016

Thanks KC... I think I was fixated on markings and trying to find it in my small viewfinder yesterday. This evening it's wingspan seemed disproportionately longer for the stout body at least 20" across.
