    Don't know where they've been the last month or so but they're back in Banchory, with up to 50 feeding on a variety of berries now that the rowan berries have been depleted. I've put apples out in the garden and I'm keeping everything crossed!

    Waxwing 3

    Flock still around on Monday, 3 weeks after first seeing them here in Whitstable but still very mobile. Feeding briefly at cotoneaster and resting in ash tree nearby before taking off somewhere else after only 15/20 minutes or so.

    Colour-ringed waxwing

    Seen in Whitstable, Kent on 1/3/17. Having been ringed in my native Aberdeen late last November, Raymond Duncan of Grampian Ringing Group informed me that this bird has been seen in the Peak District and two locations in Wales before I saw it - the most sighted c-r waxwing of the winter.
