Why can’t I find a store that stocks Zeiss SF?

This is really frustrating. I have been on the phone for an hour trying to find a store that stocks the SF so I can go and compare them to my NL. They stock Swarovski why not Zeiss? I am close to Indianapolis, Indiana so if anyone knows of a place please let me know.

Leica 8x32 HD vs papilio 6.5 or 8.5x21 For insects and butterflies?

I am thinking of these. Anyone have both or have any thoughts?

    Transparency vs light transmission

I have a question for Henry. How can a binocular with a lower light transmission look more transparent than one with a higher light transmission? The two I am looking at Zeiss 8x42HT vs Swarovski 8x42 NL pure. The NL looks better than any binoculars I have looked through for transparency but...

No glasses needed with 10x42 NL

I just purchased a 10x42 NL and I already had the 8x42 NL. I have been wearing glasses for years when using binoculars because I couldn’t get that razor sharpness without them. I have astigmatism .50 in left eye and .75 in right eye. I could get a nice view without my glasses in the 8x42 NL but...

    8x42 NL image circle

I have noticed when looking through my NL I get a beautiful view without any hint that I am looking through two separate barrels. Just one perfect image circle with no signs of the left and right overlapping. Through all of my other binoculars I don’t get this perfectly illuminated image circle...

    Leica Trinovid HD diopter

I was just wanting to know if the right eye lens moves up and down when adjusting the diopter like it does on the Nikon LX binoculars with right eye ring diopter? Or does something move internally?

    Leica service

I had a problem with my 10x50 HD plus and sent it in for warranty. The focusing lenses were shifting when changing focus direction. I got an email saying they are sending me a brand new binocular. I thought that was awesome and just wanted to share.

    Awesome service from Zeiss USA

I mailed my binoculars on June 25th and got them back today. Less than 2 weeks for my Zeiss 8x42 HT. They replaced the eyecups, cleaned outside, adjusted hinge, reworked focus drive, aligned, lubricate, and reset zero. Normally they sent them to Germany and it would take 12 weeks so I was...

    NL pure 10x vs 8x

I gave the 10x another chance today and it just doesn’t work for me. Black outs are so bad that I could never get a fully illuminated field. I am not new to binoculars and have looked through them every day for years. No matter where I position the eye cups I still could not get it comfortable...

Real calcium fluorite in NL binoculars?

B&H says that the NL has fluorite containing HD lenses. On the EL it just says Flouride glass. Just wondering if it’s real fluorite like the Takahashi telescopes.

Why don’t binocular manufacturers use something like this ?

Stay light problem solved. This material absorbing 99.9 % of light.

    Comet NEOWISE

I know this is a birdforum but everyone should try and look at Comet NEOWISE right now. It is just spectacular in binoculars and is bright enough to see naked eye after dark to the northwest from my location. You might pick up another hobby like Astronomy.

    Zeiss USA repair

I just sent my 10x42 SF in for service. Focus wheel not smooth, slightly out of alignment, and diopter knob pops up with no effort and does not click when you push it down. Just wondering if anyone on here has had the same issue and what turn around time might be. Mine is the early gray version.

B&W Nano coated 46mm clear filters on Zeiss 8x42HT

I just bought these filters from B&H and thought I would share. I wanted to protect the front objective lens and keep the optical performance of the HT.

    Zeiss 10x42 SF gray model

Hi, I recently got a Zeiss 10x42 SF gray model that was bought new in April of 2018. I called Zeiss after I registered it to find out how old it was. I do not see any green cast to the image that others have reported on here and the sample I have has a smooth focus and superb focus snap and...

    Leica 7x42 BN

I just got a pair of 7x42 BN binoculars and just wanted to share. I had a pair of the 7x42BA back in the 90s and really liked them. It was actually my first premium binocular. I sold it a long time ago and always missed it. There is something about them that I really like. I love the leather...

Eyecups for Zeiss 10x32 conquest hd

The eyecups on my Zeiss conquest hd 10x32 are broken and I have been waiting on replacement eyecups for 5 months. Anyone else waiting like me and can I buy some somewhere? I don’t need the extended version just the normal eyecups.

    Swarovision 10x42

I was at my local Cabelas today and in the bargain cave they had a pair of Swarovision 10x42 el for $999.00. I don’t think I have ever seen a pair at that price. I looked through them and no problems optically but the focus was really stiff. It is the model just before the current field pro

    Zeiss ht discontinued ?

I just looked them up on B&H and it says they are discontinued. Looks like it’s just the SF now. I knew I should have kept my 8x42 ht.

    Leica New Jersey USA repair

I sent my 10x42 Noctivid back to have the collimation checked out since the field stops were a little off when looking at stars on a tripod. They sent me an email today saying the repair will be forwarded to a third party and they will keep me informed of the progress. Does anyone know who the...

    Noctivid 10x42. finally a nearly perfect 10

I just got the Noctivid 10x42 a few weeks ago and am thrilled with it. The image is so transparent and glare free and the colors wow just beautiful. The focus wheel is the smoothest I have had in any binoculars and I have had all the alphas including the Nikon edg ll This is the best binocular...
