    1080 in Hawaii?

    Why hasn't anyone considered using 1080 in Hawaii? Surely it would be quite efficient at eliminating invasives without much impact to native wildlife? It's authorized for use in poison bait collars, why wouldn't it be available for conservationists? Does the black hand of animal rights activists...

    IUCN Red List Revision?

    It appears as though the IUCN has recently revised their Red List. However, I cannot find a comprehensive document detailing such. Does anybody know where such a report might be found? Many thanks.

    Elegant Trogon?

    Have there been any attempts to encourage Elegant Trogons to use nest boxes? A quick google search lends the information that they nest in woodpecker cavities, so shouldn't they easily take to a birdhouse?

    Bluebird House Measuring Error

    While attempting to make Bluebird houses for a local park, I misread the instructions. Instead of making the holes 1 3/8 x 2 1/4 inches, I read it as 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 inches. Will this impede nest success? Would it be worth it to replace the fronts?

    UV to sex birds in the field?

    Has anyone considered using UV light to sex birds in a relatively non-invasive manner in the field? Surely damage to the eyes is minimal? Could this be used to sex birds that have relatively little sexual dimorphism?
