    Not eating saflower seed

    The birds are Not eating safflower seed but gobbling up the sunflower seed. Mostly sparrows at this time. They ate both earlier this year. I am putting the seeds in my gravel drive. don

    food sparrows won't eat but finches will?

    Thanks; They are house sparrows and they eat the safflower seed voraciously! I am now putting sunflower in that feeder and so far they do not appear to like it but the house finches are eating it. Don

    Holes in thistle sock

    I looked out to find my thistle sack completely empty. There were several large (1/4" to 3/8") holes in the bottom. It is located near the top of another feeder. Did something peck these holes? any ideas? Thanks; Don
