    Is this a Pygmy Eagle or a Brahminy Kite? Obi Island, Maluku Utara County Maluku Indonesia. 14 November 2023. We saw both species that day, but this does not look right for either. Thanks.

    Puff-backed or Mimic Honeyeater? West Papua, Indonesia.

    Sawatuk, Sorong Regency, West Papua, Indonesia 21 November 2023 I have provisionally counted this as a Puff-backed Honeyeater based on the appaently slightly thicker bill. But almost identical Mimic Honeyeater was also seen in the area, so would appreciate some confirmation or correction. Thanks.

    Swamp Warbler? - Botswana

    Here is a bird I have provisionally identified as a Greater Swamp Warbler (A. rufescens), but the rusty flanks, short tail, and eye pattern bother me and I wonder if it could be a Lesser Swamp Warbler (A. gracilirostris).     Does anybody know the origin of the name "Gonolek." I cannot find anything at all other than that it seems to date back to Linneas or even before. Thanks.

    I noticed that the most recent IOC checklist v13.2 changed the genus of the Chat Flycatcher to Agricola from Melaenornis.. This brings IOC into agreement with Clements/eBird. But I wonder about gender agreement between Agricola (female) and infuscatus (male)? Did somebody decide that nfuscatus...

    Unknown Tern from Namibia.

    Wolvis Bay, Namibia 22 July 2023 We saw Great Crested (Swift) Terns and Damara Terns here, but not sure what this is. INaturalist suggested Sandwich Tern, but I don't think so. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Unusual Murre in California

    Photographed this unusual Murre at Devil's Slide in Pacifica, California, USA this morning. It shows the inverted "V" on its foreneck suggestive of Thick-billed Murre which is accidental here. Common Murre is abundant and expected. Any thoughts?

    Correct spelling of "Poecile carolinensis extimus"

    According to Birds of the World Online:" I've checked Banks et al 2000 and find no such correction to the genus extimus. Furthermore I do not find extima currently in use in any other checklist. What am I missing?

    Mystery wader
