    Why?

When I log in to the bird forum it takes me directly to the forums page and tells me something like 106 threads with 288 posts, the threads being new ones. So I click on the 106 threads and it does a search and then proceeds to show me that there are 94 threads and however many posts. It does...

What am I likely to find around East Prawle

I am going to stop on a small caravan site at East Prawle in just over a fortnight and I wonder what I am likely to find in the immediate area, where I am likely to find them, and where else in the vicinity would be worth a visit. We are not likely to stray far from Prawle but anywhere within...

Sigma 28-300mm F3.5-6.3 DG Macro does anyone use it

Has anyone used this lens or have any idea of what sort of results I could expect from it. I have been looking at the 70-300 lenses but the size of this lens to carry and it's weight are a big plus for me. I am looking to use it on a Canon 300d

Problems with my Collared Dove chicks

We have a small garden with some tall shrubs at the bottom about 25 feet from the back door. This year for the first time we have had a collared doves nest in the Holly tree. The birds sat the nest for the requisite three weeks, quite oblivious to our presence in the garden, and last Thursday...

Places to go in the Stamford Rutland Water area

We shall be stopping in our caravan in this area for a couple of weeks from next Sunday and I wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of some pleasant places to go birding. Preferably without a long hike ( wife not well ) and also preferably with some sheltered car parking ( the dog...

Puzzled over Field of View on Nikon Eypieces

Puzled over Filed of View on Nikon Eypieces I have a 25-75 zoom eyepiece for my ED 78 and reading many of the messages there seems to be a lot in favour of the 30w eyepiece, the reason being given is the wide Fov. Now having been out to Southport birding yesterday I can understand that a wider...
