    This individual was picking fights with a northern flicker, and a northern mockingbird, in my yard today. Very aggressive. Seemed significantly smaller than the flicker. Is it maybe a sapsucker?

    Hi, this flock circled above an inland mill pond, at about 150 feet. They are back-lit in the photos, but I can't detect any color, no matter how much I digitally adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. of the images. Which means they are completely black. So . . Glossy Ibis...

    Golden Crowned Kinglet...but with a patch of red? SE Massachusetts today

    Hi. This bird consistently demonstrated a yellow stripe on the crown. But, in a few shots, there was obvious red coloring as well. Is it a Golden? Or a Ruby? Thanks, Martin

    Which warbler/vireo? - S.E. Massachusetts

    Hello. This bird was energetically flitting around, by the shore of a pond. Apparently feeding on recently-hatched flying insects, of which there were myriads. Any ideas in an identification? BTW: the bird's bill appears to be deformed, from birth or subsequent trauma. But it did not...
