    Central Florida, 3/1/23

    Saw this guy at a parking lot the other day. The black eye-stripe reminds me of a Shrike, but the rest reminds me of some sort of sparrow. There were three of them.

    Red-Shouldered Hawk breeding?

    I just saw (today) two Red-Shouldered Hawks breed (in winter??) out in the open (on a fence in a field). Is this normal for them? It lasted about 10-15s and one of them flew off to forest afterwards. About ten minutes later there was a call from the forest and the other one dissapeared as well.

    Rapid Increase in Turkey Vultures?

    The first time I saw them (12/28/22) there were 3. Then 4. Then 7. Then 9. Then 16. And today 22… Do they normally increase their size this time of year?

    Need help identifying an orange-black bird in Central Florida.

    It came back just now. Was still too far away for a decent picture (I only have a phone as a camera) so I'll have to settle for this blurry photo: I got to see it from its back, and it has a lot more orange and stronger orange there than initially thought. There are white spots on its wing...
