I didn't see this one until tonight, I prefer the later one in yellow and red, even though this one has a water drop bounce.

Well, I seem to have stirred something here indeed. Lovely colours, excellent effect but no water drop in the middle bouncing back up as in mine (He says, tongue in cheek) and you seem to have attracted more interest in your photo than I did in mine............thats it !!!! I'm off to the...

    Woodcock SOS

Aye, they phoned the right man. Well done Ben Nevis! and a great bird to see. Interestingly last week my girlfriend who stays right on the shore in Fraserburgh had a few birds crash into her front room north facing window during the day. Migratory I would think, but why crash into the first...

Sorry the goose had a blue hue due to the digital camera contrast. There is a technical term for this condition but its gone now along with the blue hue.

    White Buzzard

Recently heard of from very good sources and saw a poor picture of what was described as a white buzzard. couple of unusual ones to ID please.

Ok I see the linnet, new one for me as I haven't seen many of them in this neck of the woods. The pale or leucistic starling, I must admit that this is only the second time I have seen a starling like this and there was very little difference between the two. The only problem is that one was in...

couple of unusual ones to ID please.

I think the first one is a leucistic starling along with a normal one? if it is thats the second one this year but this one is much lighter. The second one, methinks some kind of finch or bunting? but unfortunately can't find it in the book. (oh no! I just looked at the chaffinch (f) ) Many...
