Talked to someone in the Leupold custom shop today that told me Leupold GRs binos used the same HD lens system as their GR spotters, a fluoride based objective lens system. He went on to say this is not listed in their catalog but this is what they use in their new GRs bins. Any of you guys know...
The guy is from Romania and says there all nib with a international warrenty, in other words gray. This sounds even cheap for grey doesn't it.He wants me to send payment western union. How can you find info on someone like this and know weather to buy or not, because if I knew he was legit I...
There is a guy on Ebay that claims his store in Europe has Swarovski ELS 8.5x42s for $700 US dollars and also says he has Leica Geovids 10x42 for 700, what are the chances hes legit.
Their warranty is the best I have ever delt with and this includes zeiss or leica. They do things that are not stated in their written warranty. As long as it is or was a usa purchase and not gray the will take care of you, refurb or not, no time limit. The others are right, $899 is no bargain...
He does wear glasses. I looked and the zeiss and nikon fov is actually pretty close. The leica has a much bigger field, which I love. How do you guys like the 12x as compared to 10x. I have always used 7s, 8s, and 10s. My dad complains that as he gets older its harder for him to see with 7s, 8s...
Does anyone know if Zeiss has a 50mm or 56mm (FL) bin coming out in the near future. Are they going to replace their big Victorys with FLs like they did with the others.
FOV has a big influence on perceived image, the brightness and power perceived in my opinion. I think a larger field not only makes something appear brighter but also closer. Most coatings used by todays major companys are very simular. Where you get your variations is in the glass types, even...
I think they all have good coatings, especially swaro and zeiss. For some reason zeiss on avg. always seem brighter than the others. I have owned about every bino made by these 3 for the last 10 years or so(except 12x) and zeiss is usually brighter. Not that I like them better, they are just...
I am probally going to get my dad a 12x bino(because he insist) for his b-day and don't have experience with 12s. The two in question are the zeiss 12x56 and the 12x50 leica. The nikon is not waterproof and has to small a fov. Please tell me the pros and cons of these 2 binos and some opnions...
Yes indeed, as long as they were bought from an authorized daeler to begin with from the orgional owner. So find a good, or not, used (cheak seriel numbers make sure its not gray) and your good to go. I usually look for the cheapest pair I can find and if need be just send them back in.
In my experence they have been great to work with. A friend took my els, which I bought used, to Africa. They came back with all lenses scratched and mared, the rubber armor looked 100 years old but they still functioned fine. I sent them back not expecting much. 5 days later they sent me a new...
There awsome optically, you won't give up anything to any of the newer binos. The view is outstanding and there probally the brightest bino I,ve ever owned, and I own alot. Huge fov, good ER. They are tanks in the weight department, as they weigh more than many 50s out there. There also not as...
IMO the els or slc has a flater field than the zeiss and are as good or better in resolution.I think its beats the leicas in both these areas by a solid amount. The zeiss have less ca, higher contrast, and are brighter than the els. But for that kind of money their warranty doesn't compare to...
This is percieved image. If you hold them both into a clear sky or look at a wall the 10 will appear bigger.Dont worry about foccusing them. The only reason the 7 or 8 is bigger in feet is because it is further away. The 10 is a wide angle.By the way the 8x50 apparant fov (degree)is 56 while the...
