    where have the birds gone?

Same here, very little activity on my feeders for the last two or three weeks. Plenty of birds in and around the fields behind my house so they obviously are finding plenty of food without needing to come into the garden. No doubt activity will pick up as and when food is more difficult to find...

    Western isles

I have recently been on Mull and visited Staffa and the Treshnish Isles. When we landed on Lunga on the Treshnish the tide was out. I discovered it is not easy to scramble over big boulders to get ashore when you are the wrong side of seventy years old. This disadvantage was more than offset...

    Disinfecting Under Feeder

Disagree with Egret, I moved my bird feeders from the front garden to the back garden. The birds were all busy feeding on them within half an hour of being moved. I agree that regular movement of feeders is the best way to combat any nasty's that decide to "grow" beneath them.

    RSPB Life Fellows Newsletter

I have been a life member for several years and also volunteer in the local RSPB reserve office. Must admit that I find the Life members magazine is usually quite interesting and they go into various articles in it in some depth. I became a life member so that I can support the work that the...
