    Bird/nature photos required for blog

Hi. I would like to ask if there is a BF member who would be willing to share his or her photos on an occasional, but regular basis, for a blog I am thinking of starting up on birdwatching and associated nature studies. I am not a photographer myself. I tried, but it didn't work out. I just...

Can anyone provide a specific identification please? Fritillaries must be the most difficult to identify butterflies! Thanks

    Visiting Belgium

Anyone visiting Brussels may be interested in a series of English-language pocket guides to nature walks on the outskirts. Called "Nature Walks Near Brussels" they include directions and map, natural history notes, colour photographs (some by Bird Forum members) and places to eat and drink...

Growths on trees that look like birds' nests

    Springwatch peregrines

Does anyone know what is happening to the young peregrines on the BBC webcam in London? For over an hour, no parent has fed them. This seems strange. Is this normal?

Flower book from 1976 needs replacing!

My 1976 copy of The Wild Flowers of Britain and Northern Europe (Fitter, Fitter and Blamey), is about to be buried, having lost its colours and having been drenched in too many rainstorms while in the field. Has this book been bettered? Or is it still the best? I haven't really kept up to date...

    Small tortoiseshell?

I think it is, but it seems to be lacking the characteristic yellow markings on the leading edges of its wings, and those bars on the abdomen are strange too. Any thoughts?
