    New Televid 82 mm

New reference standard? im really happy with my Nikon 60mm ED fieldscope (30x eye piece), but this time of the year you really could use a bit larger aperture, and the ED82 is a bit too heavy for me. Additionally the nikon 20-60x zoom never worked with glasses for me. The question is, will the...

zeiss victory II and chromatic aberration?

be sure to adjust the "inter-pupilary distance" correct, the precise alignment of the eye is important to mimimize CA, even with the Zeiss FL:s

Nikon eyepiece Q: MC vs. DS

I think that vignetting depends on the aperture size, with my setup I get more vignetting when the aperture is small (higher f-falue). f/2,6 gives less vignetting than f/5,6 when the zoom is on the wide side.

Nikon eyepiece Q: MC vs. DS

looks very good, nice colors, is this a crop/full size?? is the Accuter a scope with APO/ED ?? interested in seeing pictures taken with the ED82 and DS eyepiece as well!

Nikon eyepiece Q: MC vs. DS

using cp4500 and Fieldscope EDIIIA 60mm + 30X MC (II?)for digiscoping and it works ok in good light, but the exit pupil is a bit to small and magnification is a bit too much, considering the 24x DS eyepiece, and perhaps the cp7900, but Im not sure its worth extra money, what do you think is the...

digiscoping image quality: CP7900+ED82 vs CP4500+LeicaAPO77

It seems like the wide angle eye piece is optimal for viewing but not for digiscoping, the larger apparent field of view may cause problems for the camera lens resulting in CA and also fall-off in sharpness towards the edges, ie the same as lack of a flat field.

digiscoping image quality: CP7900+ED82 vs CP4500+LeicaAPO77

I see a bit of CA in all the nikon example pictures you have posted, it seems that the eye is more forgiving when looking into the scope than the camera, i have noticed the same with my fieldscope ED III 60mm. The leica example looks a little bit better in this aspect. (And a true APO...

digiscoping image quality: CP7900+ED82 vs CP4500+LeicaAPO77

interesting, could be many factors, one is that the leica scope is a TRUE APO construction, the Nikon only has ED-glass, chromatic aberration is still there in the Nikon even though for the eye it is OK. Another factor is that the leica-zoom probably has a more flat field more suitable for...

Swaro 80HD, Leica 77APO, Fieldscope ED82: and the winner is.......

I would guess at least 6-7 MP, There are definitely more detail to see in my 60mm scope than I get with my 4MP coolpix 4500, in the tests i have done,

Swaro 80HD, Leica 77APO, Fieldscope ED82: and the winner is.......

i did a test in the shop today with the following equipment: scope: Nikon ED82 camera: Nikon coolpix 7900 (7MP) at iso 50 adaptor: Nikon FSB-1 eyepiece: Nikon 30x DS here is a pic (LARGE FILES), the second one is just "color corrected" in photoshop (pic taken indoors so the white balance was a...

Swaro 80HD, Leica 77APO, Fieldscope ED82: and the winner is.......

1-2: agree. 3: i have thought about it like this: and first I thought: aarghh, no true Tv, Av control. solution: sportsmode, selects the fastest shutter speed and largest apperture, hope I will live with it IF I buy the 7900... At least spot metering and manual adustment of ISO seems to...

    Nikon D70, FSA L-1, ED 82

    Fieldscope attachment for Nikon D70

very interesting to hear about your experiences, its very hard to find example photos from scope-DSLR combinations on the internet, i think the biggest difference from ordinary digiscoped photos is that the colors are much more realistic/better contrast. It seems that you need a bit more ISO but...

    Fieldscope attachment for Nikon D70

do you get true light metering with the d70 and the new FSA-L1 ?? it has a switch to set the corresponding apperture I assume?? With the old version you had to measure the light all manual i guess?? How difficult is it to focus through the view finder?? and what ISO settings do you use??

Swaro 80HD, Leica 77APO, Fieldscope ED82: and the winner is.......

I think I will answer my own question...=) Since you don't have to zoom in at all to avoid vignetting (with the 24x/30x DS eyepiece), the risk for shake may not be worse than with a CP4500/20x/80mm combination. For the CP5900/30x/82ED with zoom at wide angle the composite focal length will be...

Swaro 80HD, Leica 77APO, Fieldscope ED82: and the winner is.......

There is a new nikon adaptor (FSB-1) for especially for the cameras 5900/7900/5200/4200 (not 4500). The adaptor seems very good, I tried it on the outdoor-fair yesterday. The 24 x DS eyepiece (gives 30X for the ED82) and the FSB-1 adaptor gives NO/NADA/NULL vignetting when using the 7900/7600...

    magnification V Stability

Size of exit pupil is also important, a pair of 10x25 will appear more unstable than a 10x50, on the other hand the increased weight of a 10x50 can make them stable in the short run but for prolonged periods of time, they can make you tired in your arms. Some people take short peaks at birds...

    magnification V Stability

They will not be as steady, why dont try the Zeiss FL 7x42? I prefer 7x42 and don't regret buying the Zeiss FL 7x42. The resolution is amazing and a stable view is very useful. If to buy a pair of EL:s I would recommend the 8,5x42 since the 10x-model is not as good optically, and be sure you get...
