    Escaped Lynx killed - UK

That’s a question that can only be answered by those on the ground at the time, they had to make a difficult call and then live with the consequences. Maybe try walking a mile in their shoes

    Escaped Lynx killed - UK

Tranquilliser darts are only viable at very short distances as they are mainly fired from air rifles or CO2 powered rifles and the tranquilliser dart does not make an particularly aerodynamic or accurate delivery option. Most competent people familiar with their use would not attempt their use...

    Collins bird guide app

Don't see the confusion when searching ie if your looking for say a robin, type in robin it will bring up on the main screen 5 options of species with robin in the title press European robin ( if that's what you were looking for) and it displays the plates etc for the robin, it takes seconds. Or...

Great thread folks, this is why BF is so worth while. my tuppence worth, owned a Leica APO77 for many years and was delighted with it, however it came to a sticky end and in replacing it bought a Nikon 78ED from WHE as a susbstitute until finances improved. This scope was practically unheard of...

Woody Cant speak for others, but in my case you are spot on, I like the 'Illustration format' in bird books purely because it is my only experience in this medium. However you could count on one hand the times I have visited galleries or exhibitions in recent years, so perhaps I should broaden...

    Favourite Bird Artist

Have to agree with Harry, couldnt find my Collins the other night and dug out my old Birds of Europe by Lars Jonsson and the first thing that struck me was the quality of the illustrations, spend the next few hours just leafing through the book. My experience of Bird artists is totally confined...
