    Apologies if this has already been posted. I see from a report on Surfbirds that Laurence Poh has passed away. If, like me, you have marvelled at the quality of his photos in the gallery, you will agree that he will be greatly missed. Ken.

    What is a Brownling?

    Hi all, A woman I work with has asked me about a bird she was shown while on holiday in Scotland. Her friend called it a Brownling, which I assume is its local name. Her description of a thrush-like bird that sang as it floated down to earth suggested pipit to me, but a search on Google...

    North devon Info......

    I'm looking to blow away the cobwebs tomorrow or Saturday, so thought I might take a trip to north devon. The question is, what raptors are being seen at Bursdon Moor at present? it would be good to get good views of the Hen harriers - anyone seen them this winter? Regards Ken.
