    Jandia fuerteventura.

Heres another area that can be productive at times.. I had 50+ Sandgrouse feeding around this Goat pen when i was last there in Oct, but a week later there were none. The water just up from here near the school is worth a try as well for other birds... Bing Maps

    ??? Fuerteventura

Thanks for the replies.. The Spanish Sparrow answer seems to fit fine. As for the large beak, after looking at some images it appears to me that the Spanish ones have noticeably larger ones than the House variety.

    (Northern Bald) Ibis? Fuerteventura

The Ibis and storks etc were let loose when the Stella Canaris resort in Jandia closed down a few years back. The Bulbuls were escapes from Oasis Park near La Lajita, and the Sudan Golden Sparrow was a genuine migrant which may have been ship assisted..

    Barbary Falcon with prey(Leaches Petrel)

This bird came in off the sea at about 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Las Salinas on Fuerteventura a couple of weeks ago. Its only a record shot, but its a good example of how far out certain falcons will travel offshore in search of a meal...
