    The 1.7x extender reach/resolution is good enough for colour ring reading at 500m+ on species like Osprey even in significant heat haze, therefore making it an essential piece of kit for me.

    I’ve been using the 1545T/GHF2W/ATX65 daily for the past 17 days. I’ve found it to be very acceptably stable in a good force 4. The GHF2W fluid head absolutely superb with the 65. Very happy.

    Swarovski Variable Phone Adapter (VPA)

    I’d say save money and go with a Phoneskope adapter which does the job good enough. Swaro VPA is too ‘1st gen’ for me. Bulky, fiddly, often slipping out of position when in bag etc. And no way would I risk this setup hanging upside down on a lanyard with an iPhone 8 Plus in it! Not secure...

    On the iOS app when first installed, there is an app request for the user to authorise notifications. Haven't received any yet though, so presumably not functional as yet.

I defected to the RBA app from Birdguides for the cleaner, succinct iOS notifications, which are so on point I can go days or even weeks without even needing/wanting to leave the lock screen or go further in-app, never mind...

    I have lost count of the number of times I have accidently pulled the diopter out when focusing. It's the main bugbear of my 8x32SV's. A locking diopter is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

    Could someone answer this for me please: What magnification does the MC wide eyepiece (Nikon serial number BDB90059) give on the ED50? On the box it say 24x (60mm), 30x (78mm), 30x (82mm). I'm hoping its 20x, but suspect it is 16x, and not as advertised if so. Thanks in advance, Bill.

    Attempting manual focus on the FZ-200 seems a completely waste of time to me, though other users may have persevered longer with it than I have? Am convinced it'll cost me some record shots whereby I have to focus through branches, grass, foliage etc.

    What is Leica obsession with short eye relief ?

    Back in 2007, I would have bought a pair of Leica Ultravid 8x32HD had it not been for the short eye relief. Instead I bought Zeiss 8x32FL and have been incredibly happy with them. As you say, Leica's loss.
