    Possible Semi-p ?

My first thoughts were leaning towards Baird's but i didn't think it had that "squashed body" look about it. Deffinatlely not Sanderling it was tiny, smaller than LRP. I've added another pik with a Common Sand to try and show size comparison. Split white rump so no White-rumped A couple of parc...

    Possible Semi-p ?

On an awayday to the Parc du Marquenterre northern France yesterday (3rd) one of the group encountered this small calidris that we think may be a Semi-palmated Sandpiper. ***Orange-billed Tern at Stodmarsh Kent

Attached is an un-molested pik of the two terns, aside from cropping, the one on KOS site had also been sharpened. Although the bird looks a little unusual it is probably just a common tern with an odd looking bill or the light conditions of the day made it look yellow (orange)

    ***Orange-billed Tern at Stodmarsh Kent

An orange-billed tern was seen and photographed by Alan Ashdown at Stodmarsh on 25/04/08. Does anyone have any idea what it might be from the one underside shot that was taken. It was in the company of a Common Tern and appeared to be slightly larger and longer winged.
