    Canon MKIII convertors experiences please

Additionally anyone used convertors on the Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM? A nice lens to have, but weight may also be an issue. Thanks for any input. I'm lucky to be in a position to upgrade my gear at the moment so I'm looking at views on these lenses and convertors specificall for wildlife...

    Canon MKIII convertors experiences please

Thanks all, really useful comments. If its genuinely the case that I have nothing to gain between MKII and MKIII convertors when using on a Canon EF 500mm f/4 L IS USM then I can save a few £ there so thanks. I've read that IQ is better around the corners and edges on MKIII 2x and new versions...

    Canon MKIII convertors experiences please

I use Canon 90D and am looking to hear about direct experiences using the below lenses and converters. I'm wary of convertors but I hear the new MKIII have less issues with IQ and AF than previous models. Canon 500mm f4 MKI plus 1.4x mkiii seems to have a good rep for results. Any idea how...

    Canon G1 X

Thanks Neil I'd love to be able to use the G1x but it looks unlikely. I have Swaro scope anyway. I am thinking of getting the 25-50 Swaro lens and i was hoping you could tell me if there is a similar camera, perhaps the G12 than i can use with this. Thanks

    Hampshire

I guess you are talking about the Farlington/Langstone Harbour area? Is this a list of species you have seen there recently? Are you sure about the Merlin?

    Dslr bird video thread

Just add to this i have done some test and the noise is related to the Rode mic. It doesn't matter how far away I move it from the 7d it is still present, just a dull background hiss that you don't get from the internal mic. I guess it is something normal that you guys are all used to and that i...

    Dslr bird video thread

Hi Rob I think this sound could be generated by the 7d. Do your recording have any kind of background hiss, i can remove the hiss from mine in software but would rather not have to. If you use a cable were is your mic mounted? Thanks

    Dslr bird video thread

No not that i am afraid, i have a windjammer fitted and it wasn't windy plus its a constant hissing noise. Set-up mounted on a tripod with a non-IS lens. Is my mic faulty?

    Dslr bird video thread

Thanks for this, that's the one i have read about before probably on here. However i have purchased it and have a problem. In he first few videos i have shot with it it is picking up distant sound very nicely but the whole recording is overshadowed by a hissing sound which frankly is worse than...

    Dslr bird video thread

First attempt Hi All, here is my first attempt at making a short film from 7d video clips all taken in the same day at the same place in Hampshire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9HJsY_hLrQ It is a bit shaky in places due to the wind and I have added some of the sound since the wind noise was...

Canon S90 - two quick questions

Thanks for this I bought the Amazon adapter mentioned in the link above it is excellent. A snug fit that still allows access to the adjustment ring on the front of the camera. It connects to the bottom via the tripod thread but with a nut that has another thread in the bottom, which allows me to...

    7d soft focus issue

Thanks again for taking the time to demonstrate your point. There is very little if anything in it, though I looked at all three and then picked the one I thought showed the worst levels of noise in the background along the fence, I then looked at the data and was surprised to find it was the...
