    Hybrid Mallard x Pacific Black Duck? (Sydney)

    Saw this fellow in the park and noticed it stood out from the Pacific Black Ducks. Looked slightly darker, has orange feet (instead of grey), more Mallard-type bill colouring, orange face (instead of buff) and a more speckled breast. Any ideas? Gheers, Tony

    Possibe Mallard hybrid? (Sydney)

    Evenin' all, I saw this fellow on the lake in the Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney and thought he looked a bit odd, even for a yuck duck. No curly tail, somewhat odd head shape, rather straight top side to the bill. Any ideas, or just a odd-looking farmyarder?

    This fellow's caught me a bit - the eye is brown for a start, which would imply a juvenile, but the beak is long and the feathers look well worn. Also, the throat hackles are either very neat and flat, or missing. Still an Australian Raven, or something else? Cheers, Tony
