    Cuckoo heard on Barden Moor this afternoon, seen earlier by a local birder. Good views of a pair of Ring Ouzels. Also a solitary Pink foot amongst the Greylags and very strangely a Bar-Headed Goose which was presumably an escapee.

    Redstarts have been quite reliable in the area that Keith mentioned and plenty of Pied Flys in the next section. We haven't heard any Wood Warblers yet this year nor have we seen any Spotted Flys. Cuckoo(s) about and pretty reliable on Barden Moor at the moment and there are at least two pairs...

    Cuckoo, stonechat, reed bunting and a minimum of three Ring Ouzel (possibly five depending on whether we saw two of the birds twice) on Barden Moor this morning.

    We only managed a quick couple of hours so we didn't manage a full circuit, but no sign in that time. Plenty of other stuff about though and we saw at least 4 redstarts including one very close on the Storriths road and about the same number of pied fly's.

    On Saturday I was on the road and heard the cuckoo as I was passing the farmhouse but it was calling from way down by the river. On Tuesday I heard it again this time from the south side of the river when it was probably calling from the tree that you mention. :'D I'll have another go next week.
