    Maspalomas area of Gran Canaria

Went on a dudes holiday to this area with the Mrs for 2 weeks: Aug 23rd - 6th Sept. Pretty laid back, but did visit the lagoon at the sea end of the dry canal. At the north end of the lagoon, the shallow rocky area held a number of waders. Numbers varied on a daily basis, whether tide related or...

    GREEN SANDPIPERS on Migration

Here at Upton Warren in Worcestershire, we regularly get good totals of Green Sands on migration during Autumn. The first birds start arriving in mid June, when the females arrive. Numbers build up when the males start arriving and finally juveniles in late July August. If the feeding conditions...

Over the last few weeks I have had an increase in sightings of tree bumblebees in my garden. Well Done Swarovski

Had a problem with the green armouring on my EL 8.5 x42's, it seemed to be slightly 'bubbled' and clicked when pressed. Also after cleaning, I noticed a small smudge/frosty patch in the centre of the eyepiece. This was only visible when looking down the barrel from the objective lens. Closer...

    TAMRON SP 200-500mm F5.6. model 31A

I bought this lens for my canon F1 in the 35mm era. As a birder I tend to only go for record and habitat shots and I now have a bridge camera. Can this lens be used with modern DSLR cameras? Its a pity that my lens is no redundant as I hardly ever used it. B (:John

    Birding Late July on Fuerteventura

Just got back from a 2 week dudes holiday to Fuertaventura with the Mrs. Hired a car for 2 days and apart from one site for CC courser (where I failed) I went totally ‘blind’. Gravel Pits on A50

As you come off the M1 going along the A50 towards Derby, after 3miles or so (just before Shardlow) are a series of gravel pits. Couldn't stop on the road but they certainly look good for waders. Can anyone help solve the mystery? Over the last two weeks I have come across 4 or 5 headless frogs in my garden. We only rarely have cats in the garden just before dark.
