    Nikon Coolpix P7700

Gordon I may be too late with this. I bought a Nikon V1 just a week ago, couldn't afford it when they first came out, but now they have come down to less than half the original price. What I can say is that there is no problem with vignetting with the VI and 10-30 zoom on a Nikon ED82 and the...

This morning there were radio controlled model sailing boats on the "Big" lake. Also a Kayak !. Speaking to one of the fishermen, he said that unpowered recreational use was to be allowed on the lake. The model sailing boat owners were using the car park. I am not sure if the kayak was anything...

    Dorset birding

We visited the lakes this afternoon, parked up in Green Lane, as we got out the car there were 3 Redwings feeding on berries, mind you it appeared they were dropping more than they eat. Lots of Lapwing and as Dominic said, loads of Meadow Pipits, right on the edge of the water. Didn't see the...

The Hoopoe was still at Longham at 1.30pm today. We parked up in Green lane, several birders were just about to drive off, having not seen the Hoopoe, one couple had to drive back to the other side of the M25. So it did not bode well for us to see it. It was a pretty cool walk down to the far...

Have just got back into birding and photography in the last fortnight, after a summer break. Had good views of Wheatear last weekend at Holt Heath, loads of linnet too. The Little owl at Portland is brilliant isn't it. We visited last winter, first time we had seen a Little owl in Dorset...

Thanks for your interest. Thornlv If you need any information on any of the home engineering I have made, then email me. Re the red dot finder. I couldn't work without it. Especially with angled scope and high magnifications. How many times have you been trying to find the bird in the scope...

    Digiscoping with the Nikon P6000

Tried out the Nikon ED82 with the 50x DS eyepiece today using the P6000. The good news is it pulls in some good pictures. The best pictures were with about 13mm of zoom on the camera. Larger pictures can be seen on our P6000 web page here http://www.digiscoping.lynandmalc.co.uk/p6000page1.htm...

    Digiscoping with the Nikon P6000

I have not been Digiscoping for about 4 months as busy on other things in the summer. I have checked in here on numerous occasions, and seen those magnificent pictures from Neil with the P6000. I know the Swarovski scope and new eyepiece, is superior to my Nikon ED82 and 30x or 50x DS...

Ray That is one big sun shade you have on the P5100. Is it just a piece of gutter downpipe. Or does it have a magnifying lens inside. I also notice your shutter speeds are quite low on those pictures. Is the tripod head a Manfrotto 501. Thanks for posting Malc www.digiscoping.lynandmalc.co.uk
