Birding in the Carribbean or Florida

Thinking about taking a week to 10 days to head south and do some birding. Would not be driving so am looking for any suggestions on a location (there are many I am sure) but I am not picky. Can fly sometime mid Feb, not sure if many of the AC Vacation locations to resorts have any nearby...

    Frame or Mounting Image

I am looking for some ideas on the best way to present the photo below for an upcoming public exhibit. This is the last image to do and would like to have one done in a nice frame/mat or another format. I normally don't do this only use my images digitally so any suggestions are most welcome. Of...

    Nikon D7200 Menu Setting Question

My main subjects are birds and nature related photography. I currently have Focus for my selection for these 2 menu settings: AF-C priority selection: AF-S priority selection: Is this the correct or best settings for photographing birds mostly. Most of my images are good but do get...

    D7200 and a long lense

Does anyone use the D7200 with the Nikkor 80-400 AF VR ED 1:4.5-5.6D. This is my current main lense and was wondering how it will work on such a newer body. Also is autofocus fine tuning likely to be needed with this combo.

    Nikon D50 Settings

I normally shoot with Vivid JPEG Normal, is this setting what most D50 users use or do any of the other settings give up better shots. Here is the menu setting for this in my camera. I could just try them all but was working here on the PC tonight and after looking at some shots taken today in...

    Superzoom For Nature/Birding

My current setup is a Nikon D50 w/80-400VR for mainly birding and was looking to upgrade my setup. Any thoughts on getting a superzoom such as the "PANASONIC DMC-FZ1000 20MP". Would this be comparble to what I currently have or maybe even a little better in overall image quality. Thanks for any...

    Birding Setup Upgrade

Having been using a used D50 with the older version of the 80-400vr lense and am looking at opinions on a uograde setup. See my ideas: 1. D90 2. D5300 was planning on buying the updated 800-400vr. My idea wasbuying a decent piece of glass would be money better spent than a high end body.

    2nd Body Purchase

My current setup is a D50 w/80-400VR. Although the lense is okay and not the best in low light it has served my well and I plan on still using it. My goal is to buy a 2nd body to shoot with this lense. Assuming a body with an auto focus motor would be best is the D7000 a reasonable one to shoot...

My current setup is a Nikon D50 w/80-400vr. I plan on keeping the D50 for non-wildlife images but am looking for suggestions to use the same lense (80-400vr) for birding with a new body. Would the D90 be a decent body to work with this lense. I have thought about a D7000 but there appears to be...
