    Dragonfly, Sri Lanka

    Seen at the end of February in Sinharaja, Sri Lanka. I think it must be either: 1. Gomphidia pearsoni (Rivulet Tiger) 2. Ictinogomphus rapax (Common Clubtail/Rapacious Flangetail) The eye colour - dark grey - seems to suggest (2) but I'd appreciate a confirmation.

    Butterflies from Poland - for confirmation

    These two were from north-east Poland last week. The first is likely to be Large Tortoiseshell but I'm not sure that Yellow-legged can be ruled out, at this location. The second is a female Sooty Copper I think. Any comments welcome.

    Costa Rica moths for ID

    These two were from Arenal. The first was 25mm long. The second had a forewing length of just over 50mm. Interested to hear any thoughts on ID.

    Some more moths found in Italty (the Dolomites) in the 2nd week of July. The first was 30mm across - something like an annulet? The 2nd and 3rd were in a moth trap, surrounded by pine trees. The last was seen at higher altitude, just above the tree-line but near a visitor center. Forewing...

    Ani - Yucatan, Mexico

    As I understand it Groove-billed Ani is fairly common in the Yucatan, but Smooth-billed is not. So I'm not sure if this is Smooth-billed or an immature Groove-billed? Seen near Rio Lagartos in the northern Yucatan in late November this year.

    ID - Flying Hawk - Yucatan, Mexico

    From the Sian Ka'an reserve in late November this year. Impression was that it was smaller than Roadside Hawk but it wasn't in view for long so I could be wrong about the size. The first image is the original shot, the 2nd is the same but with the brightness boosted right up.
