With all due respect Tom the bird was seen by 4 VERY experienced observers including the County Recorder, Common Buzzard was definitely ruled out. Regards John

    Canon SX50 Flash ring

Not sure if this is what you want as it is not a flash as such. Its a ring light and permanently on but good for macro. It fits my SX40 so should fit the 50 too. The actual unit is very light and it has a battery pack which fits to the base of your camera with an extra thread if needed to be...

    Canon SX50 Specs

I think I have requested this before? Seeing as it is a good starting point and many people ask as to settings when they first get the camera, can the Mods put it as a sticky at the top? John

    Canon SX60HS in Action

No disrespect to any of the posters on here but I'm not seeing anything yet that would make me change my SX40 to an SX60. May go down the line of an SX50. John

Super-cheap detectors from the toy shop

Used mine last night on a bat night at Draycote Reservoir. There were four other people that turned up with the same detector ;) It definitely works and sounds were comparable to the more expensive detectors. For the price its worth getting one for the evenings. I think Argos have changed their...

Rare and Scarce Birds in Warwickshire

Hi Phil There is some limited space along the road near the southern end. Go over the gate and then walk clockwise round the edge on an obvious track. The bird favours the willows on the opposite side before you get to the point. I think officially its anglers only but they seemed ok yesterday...

    Polecat or hybrid

Thanks John. I saw the other thread just after I posted and sent them an email. As you say paws look all dark so good, just wished I had a better shot of the face. As for a tick I don't think I will ever see one alive, have enough trouble spotting dead ones that could or could not be one ;)...
