On 13 November 2021, a Lapland Longspur was photographed near Casablanca, Morocco. Less that two weeks earlier, a Yellow-billed Cuckoo was photographed at Khnifiss lagoon. Buteo buzzard, Algeria

This buzzard was photographed at Djurdjura, northern Algeria in March 2020 by Mourad Harzallah. The black subterminal tail band, smaller bill and the general look of the bird (smaller and compact) suggest a Steppe Buzzard. Hooded Crow breeding in Catalonia

Hooded Crow breeding in Catalonia for the third consecutive year (scroll down). Probably the only breeding records in Iberia. I guess it's an isolated case (c.f. the Lesser Spotted Eagle). Otherwise, is there some expansion at their range limit further northwest?

    Golden Nightjar

First confirmed breeding of Golden Nightjar at Aousserd. Yesterday, a group of birders (at least 10 plus the guide) enjoyed close views of the breeding bird setting on its young. But honestly I fear that too much disturbance may cause problems for this population.

Could this be a Mauritanian Grey Heron or just a very pale bird of the nominate subspecies? Photos here and here. I don't have any experience with the Mauritanian Grey Heron in the field, but I expect it to be much whiter like this bird. What do you think? Thanks!
