    It's tough, yes. It was not a blue eared; I saw it in Kalimantan and it was almost the half in size. Also with the atthis subspecies... too big Hercules is the one that fits for me, if it weren't for its distribution and also the habitat...

    Can't find it in my book of birds of greater Sundas and Wallacea... It looked like an european alcedo atthis, but it was noticeably much bigger. Seen in a rice paddyfield near Rantepao.

    After spending in 2022 three days there, I will return this year and spend four. I have been birding at muara Angke, Monas, some gardens... So this time I'm thinking in a short trip to surroundings areas to try specially the green junglefowl. Any idea where to go? Any Jakarta bird guide to lead...

    I will visit the area in April... I don't know if try Tamri or get inside the national park. Is there any realiable place in the park? Which entrance is recommended for the Ibis? I will go from Marrakech to tiznit by car, it has to be done before sleep that day. Thanks!

    Is it safe to go? Have been at Papua (Raja Ampat, Manokwari, Wanema) few months ago, and everybody said Port Moresby is now one of the most dangerous city of the world. Birding is hard, and as it´s mentioned, its easier to see a BoP than any other "common" bird.

    Thanks Niels and Brian!!! Yes, finally I think that's right. 1 is clear woodpecker to me regarding the habitat and much paler colour, I can remember it perfectly. The photo is bad for identification purposes. 4 is conirostris, is the only species that ocurrs in Española of that kind. 3 seems...

    Thanks Niels!!! 1 I'm thinking in woodpecker finch. It was in a big tree in an humid tree area at Isabela (no cactus there), in the way to the volcano. Also it was paler than "standard" females of Darwin finches. 3 Could be the vegetarian? It was mid size 6 Eating flowers... I have photos of...
