Are Canon at Focus on Imaging?

I noticed on another forum that Canon are no longer on the exhibitors list and were taken off the floor plan yesterday. Anyone going mainly to see Canon's new toys may be best to check Edit: Confirmed now, Canon won't be there

Problem viewing jpgs on a television

I've just burned a number of images onto both a CD and DVD and can view the files fine on a computer, but when I put them into the dvd attached to the television the message 'disk cannot be read' comes up. I'm sure I've done this in the past without a problem. Any thoughts?

    Canon press conference

Looks as if Canon have called a press conference for 19th August. What do we reckon they will announce. 1d mkIV, 60D, 2000D or a new lens. I'd settle for a D3 with Canon tippexed over the Nikon bit and a canon mount 8-P

    Lightroom

I attended a talk yesterday on Lightroom hosted by someone who obviously knew it inside out and backwards. I must say I'm impressed and it makes my bridge>acr>cs3 workflow seem very clunky. How many people using Lightroom have pretty well abandoned photoshop?

    Eizo monitor hardware calibration problem

I'm having trouble sorting the calibration on my Eizo CG222W monitor. The calibration process runs fine and produces a profile which is stored in the right folder in the computer etc. The problem is when the profile is validated the delta E results are too high and the monitor when used in cal...

    Epson r800 problem

i've been using an r800 for a good while with results i've been very happy with but today a strong magenta colour cast has appeared on the prints. I'm pretty certain nothing in the settings has changed since the last time I used the printer and a nozzle check is OK. I've triple checked...

    1d mkIII/40d Cross Type Sensors

Could be completely wrong but I'm just wondering if the design of the 'high precision' sensors accounts for the 40d woes with taped tcs. With my 100-400 and 500f4 my mkIII used in landscape mode often fails to get a focus lock on thin branches and would hunt until the battery goes flat...

Connecting mkIII to pc (or not!)

I hope I'm just having a really dumb moment but I've deleted the old versions of software, installed the new stuff and yet when I plug the mkIII into my pc nothing happens. Plug the 20d & 400d in and instantly get the little box about new hardware and EOS Utilty is up and running. Emailed Canon...

    Marsh/Willow Tit Warwickshire

Ladywalk NR, my local patch has been a Willow Tit stronghold for years but recently Marsh Tit has been recorded in the log book. I tried to get a few shots as the birds flitted to and from the feeders and reckon the first 2 shots are Marsh and the 3rd Willow. What do others reckon?

1D mkIII Sensor & Visible Dust Products

For future reference I emailed Visible Dust to find out which of their products are safe to use on a mkIII sensor. Very quickly got an email back that all of their products for cleaning sensors are fine to use on mkIII sensors. Paul

    1D mkIII @ iso3200

Took this today completely by mistake, having just come back outdoors and forgot to reset the ISO. This is straight out of the camera, just resized. JPEG faithful with NR off, so, as far as I can tell no in-camera processing. Taken with 100-400.

    Capture 1 LE

This could be me being dim but I thought I'd mention it. A bit of maintenance on my pc turned up the fact that my HD was nearly full - odd because I store images etc on external drives etc. Investigation turned up 70Gb of files in program files, phase one, previews. Even with the preview cache...

    Wagtail ID

Photographed this bird today in with a large flock of yellow, pied and white wags in Warwickshire. Certainly doesn't look straightforward to me so other opinions would be appreciated. Paul
