Chiffchaff race, Buckton ,East Yorkshire,UK
This Chiffchaff was found in the Heligoland trap area at Buckton yesterday. I found it perplexing.No calls ,and very skulking behaviour.At times ,the super seemed strong ,others less. Consensus among my friends is that its not tristis, but what race would the fund ascribe it to?Thanks in advance...- DOC REED

Hi Several images of Swifts taken at Raysut Water Treatment Ponds ,Salalah ,on 19/10/19. Apologies for poor images ;they were fast and there was considerable heat haze . Came across this old image from Redhouse reservoir near York c2012. Near Rufforth tip ,which has attracted many 'white wingers' over the years.I'm struggling to ID and age this gull,any help gratefully received!- DOC REED

On a site for Indian birds, some discussion re the I'd of this bird. Taken July in Utterakhand at 4400 m. Linnet would be a rarity, twice less so and also female rosefinches to consider. Any thoughts/ help appreciated.- DOC REED

Guilt! Pete I know the feeling! But this was an instance where everyone present could have life keeping images of a Leo, save for one individuals behaviour. I later relocated the Leo in more typical deep roost habitat and put a few on to it. It was still within 20 feet but partly obscured... -

Filey Area Advice Please
It depends how brave you are!!! My walking boots failed on me last time down the steep route , gettingback up was interesting with a flapping sole in not nice conditions! Haven't been for a while,,,but its a great place so enjoy! -
