    Coal Tit explosion!

I'm lucky because my garden is surrounded by fields of sheep so I can make a fairly accurate count. Sadly we don't have the Nuthatch over here. This video I took recently, will give you an idea of just how busy they are. N.B. If you watch the Goldfinch, you will see that this video was not...

    Coal Tit explosion!

Hi, I have a couple of pairs of Blue Tits & 3 pairs of Great Tits, so far more Coal Tits than the others. As for my Sunflower Hearts feeders. I have 3 & they are usually all emptied each day. Cheers, Dick

Unusual feathering on one of my garden Great Tits!

Has anyone else come across this type of unusual feathering before? This Great Tit has looked like this for the past few months. I'm hoping it'll moult out & go back to normal. Cheers, Dick

    Great Spotted Woodpecker!

I had another one of those Magic Birding moments today! 😎 The weather this afternoon was overcast & rather dreary with light rain, but anyway I headed off towards dusk, to my local wood, near Armoy, North Antrim with my team of dogs, but only took a Macro lens, as I didn't really expect to see...

Tree Sparrows: Great time of year to get new Nest Boxes up!

A couple of photos of the cozy, feather-lined winter nests for roosting in, my Tree Sparrows have been making over the past few weeks.

    Coal Tit explosion!

Is anyone else 'suffering' from an explosion in Coal Tit numbers in their garden, right now? I have two resident pairs whose territories include part of my large garden, but I walked round my garden's 10 feeding stations, here in North Antrim, yesterday morning & counted at least 24 Coal Tits...

Tree Sparrows: Great time of year to get new Nest Boxes up!

A few of my pairs of Tree Sparrows have been busy, over the past few weeks, making new winter roost nests in their boxes, following me cleaning them out in mid September. I even had two pairs fighting over one box, so clearly it was time I put up a few new boxes. This week I put up 6 new...

    Waxwings in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim!

Good Luck ... maybe this is your year. :t: I saw my first Waxwings on a snowy day in Edinburgh, back in the early 60s. Funny how we never forget a first sighting like that. The memory is still so vivid ... 60 years later! Cheers, Dick

    Waxwings in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim!

Nice to see photos of large flocks of Waxwings. I saw my first Waxwings by Middle Meadow Walk in the The Meadows in Edinburgh, on a snowy day back in the early 60s. Funny how we never forget a first sighting like that. The memory is still so vivid ... 60 years later! Yes, I grew up in...

Lucky you. I'm fortunate to have a pair nesting on my patch but they are a few miles away from my garden. I've attached a photo. Cheers, Dick
