    Poor behaviour by birders

    Perhaps it just me getting old and grumpy but does anyone else share my conerns about the increasing number of incidents of poor behaviour by birders? I moderate the Sussex Ornithological Society's sightings board which in the last few months has had messages about trespassing and poor behaviour...

    Ruddy Duck cull continuing

    I'm sure this has been discussed at length elsewhere but the culling of ruddy ducks continues http://www.sos.org.uk/recent-sightings/index.php If you still have ruddy ducks in your county and don't want them exterminated, it might be wise to say very little about them and not mention locations...

    Oman RFI

    Due to a change in flight timings I now find myself with a day to spare in Muscat (Oman) on the way to Nepal. My intention is to spend the time I have birding. It sounds as if the area round Muscat is undergoing a lot of changes at the moment so would welcome suggestions of good places to go...

    Caspian gull?

    Would welcome comments from people who know Caspian gull well as to whether they think this bird is one? It was photographed at Newhaven (East Sussex) on 6th March.
