I smile a bit when I read some reviewer's complaints about "only" being f5.6 or not having image stabilization. There is a solution to both, buy a much more expensive, much heavier version of Canon super-telephoto. I use an assortment of fixed (wide field) focal length EPs and all are great. Superb really. I also have the MCII zoom and am less impressed with it. I keep a Pentax XW14 eyepiece on mine for a wide 36x, great for field use. Combination makes for a flawless view, sharp to the edge, with plenty of eye relief.
