    About 200 pink-footed geese flew over Roundhay this morning about 10am. Looks like they may have come from Eccup. Whooper swan still there feeding on bread with the mutes.

    Just been contacted about possible female golden oriole sighting yesterday. Person described red beak and speckley breast. The sighting was on the no through road to Hagg House Farm at the western edge of Askham Bryan village. O/S reference 542495 on the York/Selby map.

    They love sticklebacks. This water rail seems to have adopted the kingfisher screen site. It was doing the same thing when I visited on 2nd January.
