    USA Outer banks Carolina

Totally new to US birding, but loving trying to ID birds in a new country. I fished on the pier at Avalon, Outer Banks, North Carolina and was surrounded by these amazing grackles trying to steal the bait. Pretty big; UK jackdaw sized; bright shiny things. Boat tailed (last image)? Later we...

    Pigeon with spots! UK.

Someone posted this on a local UK bird thread. The prey looks like a pigeon if you look at it's legs, tail feathers and size, but has a speckled breast. Not seen a pigeon domesticated or otherwise with a speckled breast like this. Any thoughts?

    Feathers Point Clear, Essex, UK

Can anyone help ID these feathers? They were found yesterday on a bank near the estuary at Point Clear, Essex. Pretty sure they're not tufted duck, lapwing, moorhen, oystercatcher or any other black and white bird I can think of. Sorry I forgot to add something for scale. I would estimate the...

    Bird call Norfolk Broads UK

Can anyone help ID this call. There were at least 3 calling to each other, so it's not an unusual species. Sorry about the quality. Many thanks.

    Small birds Port Grimaud, France

About 8 of these birds were in Port Grimaud, France today. Very noisy, small (about goldcrest size) and unlike anything I'd seen before. I presume they are escaped aviary birds. Anyone know what they are? Sorry for the poor quality of the photos: I took them quickly using a mobile. Thanks.

Pleased with my find this afternoon on Blakeney point. Pretty sure this is a long or short eared owl feather. Anyone got any ideas which one? Thanks.

    Feathers Waxham Norfolk UK

Can't work out what these are from. Found in the dunes at Waxham, Norfolk. Only thing I can think of is a bantam - though what a silver laced wyandotte was doing in the dunes is anyone's guess... being eaten by a fox?

    Bird of prey Tuscany, Italy

North East Spain. No photo, distinctive flight pattern and call.

Just back from a trip to North East Spain. Went to Aiguamolls Emporda marshes where we saw purple heron, melodious warbler, crested lark, serin, whiskered tern, nightingales, amongst others. There was one bird I couldn't identify. They were pretty common and about the size of a small finch...
