Which Barn Swallow subspecies have been confirmed in Australia?

tytleri has also been reported at least though I don't know off the top of my head whether any claims are well-documented

Noddy species, a Pelagic off Karachi coast after hurricane

Late on this and agree it looks like a Sooty/Bridled type, but would just note that Bridled Tern is noticeably smaller than Common/Brown Noddy is noticeably and similar to Lesser Noddy - though I suspect Lesser is shorter-winged (and definitely gives a smaller impression with a weaker and...

Albatross - Antarctica from a survey ship

Definitely a Wandering type, and in that location Snowy (exulans) or Tristan (dabbenena) probably most likely, plumage suitable for both of them and bill/head structure not clear enough for me to make a guess. gibsoni also not excludable on plumage, probably less likely at that location. I...

Help with Australian Bird ID - Historic Cased Taxidermy

Knot not Great Knot? Western Australia

Is there any evidence that this is a particularly useful feature? A quick search through images of both species suggests the difference is marginal with much overlap, and I've not seen or heard it used previously?

    Knot or not? Australia

As in the other thread, bill is actually rather too short for a Great, and lacking slight downcurve

Another knot or not in Australia

Bill is actually rather too short for a Great

Another knot or not in Australia

Late to the party but this looks better for a Red Knot, likely the same bird as in the other thread. Key features are the shorter bill and the more evenly grey upperparts as John has mentioned, also useful are the chevrons on the lower flanks. The black patterning on the chest is somewhat...

Knot not Great Knot? Western Australia

This is a Red Knot, as John mentions above, as are the birds in the two older threads from the same area (likely the same bird as it's fairly distinctive). Key features are the shorter bill and the more evenly grey upperparts as John has mentioned, also useful are the chevrons on the lower...

    Albatross id please, NZ

Looks like a Southern Royal to me, no issue with the amount of white in the wing which can be almost as extensive in Southern Royal as "Snowy" Wandering. Bill and head shape look better for Royal than a Wandering-type to my eye also Fairly sure the black cutting edge is real, stops on reaching...

    Second small mystery, Western Australia

Another for Aus Reed Warbler, your "chit chit" description sounds pretty good for their contact call too

Fledgling at Herdsman Lake, Perth, WA

If you're still looking for a tie-breaker, I'd say it is indeed a Brown Honeyeater as Bruce first suggested

    Albatross species

Shy (T. [c.] cauta) or White-capped (T [c.] steadi) Albatross, not possible to separate them in this plumage on current knowledge

    Albatross from SW Australia

Either Black-browed (older immature) or Campbell Albatross. The underwing is suitable for Campbell but also for immature Black-browed and there isn't enough detail in those photos to assess other features - I'm getting an impression of a weak grey collar in the images but could be imagining...

    Egrets, Australia

They're both young Little Egrets, reef egret would have shorter and thicker legs in particular. Young Littles can have quite extensively yellowish bills and legs. Eastern Reef Egret are scarce in the Perth area, and white morph would be exceptional.

Broad-billed or Leaden Flycatcher in Darwin
