    I keep listening now, I turned the volume right up, at first I thought it was the camera motor, I was using the 7D but I still think it is a helicopter in the distance, we do get a lot going over.     Pshute, there is no machinery running but I do have a fountain. I have listened again, I can hear my breathing, the shutter of hubby's camera and about 3/4 of the way through there could be a helicopter.

    I have a video with sound. It was taken in my garden, at the 2 minute mark the swooshing noise you hear is them taking off from the conifers, they came out in waves. They were only 10 feet away from me so the noise was deafening. Hubby was covered in poo, I only had a few spots LOL...

    LOL! I have never seen Green woodepeckers except at Newport and Telford. Thats Brilliant if I have them now in my garden. Must put abetter lens on and see if I can get clearer photos. Thank you all you have made my day.

    I need Clarification that this is a Greater spotted juvenile woodpecker. All the juvenile I normally see have the same markings as an adult but very muted, I have never see an all brown one.

    I had about a dozen waxwings in the apple tree in my garden in Balterley north of Madeley last week on the 7th of January. They kept coming back to feed for about two days.

    Thank you Smiths that does sound similar so it could have been bullfinch. The call is so diferent to what I am use to hearing from bullfinch.
