    My 'bug of the day' was this super Longhorn Beetle species. Can't pin it down to a specific ID. Body length 10mm. Cambridgeshire UK. May 2012. Many thanks in advance for help with the ID. Joe

    Mystery Insect - Baffled! Cambs UK

    Superb! Many thanks for the pointer Ficedula. I've just had a half hour sifting through a Collumbola web site and found it. Luckily it's one of the common springtails and possibly the only one that can be ID'd by sight - Orchesella cincta. Great job! Mystery solved.

    Damsel Bug - Nabidae - ID help. cambs UK

    Hi all. A bit of help required with the ID of this Damsel Bug, if possible. I have photographed several Tree Damsel Bugs (Himacerus apterus) over the last few days, but this one is giving me problems. Wings look a bit long for Tree, but, IMO, antennae seem a tad too long for Ant Damsel Bug...

    A smidgin's worth of help needed please. This little chap, 5mm long, has beaten all of my ID attempts. I can't even pin it down to family as the awkward little so and so seems to be made up of bits from a ton of other species! :-O Picture taken July, damp woodland edge (fen). Any ideas...
