    An enjoyable morning as ever despite the unpredicted drizzle. The Redstarts and Pied Flys seemed especially obliging today. The usual Blackcap/ Garden Warbler conundrum was helped by both giving themselves up easily. A comprehensive haul all told. Find of the day has to go the pair of ladies...

    Boro Birder, I assume Geoff was referring to the BK at Shaw Farm in the far reaches of Arkengarthdale near The Stang. It sounds like the numbers have increased considerably since I was last there 5 years ago. Might be worth another visit.

    Hi Minty. Olly makes some great suggestions above. I'd add the local RSPB group to that if you are just starting out. Oh, I wouldn't worry about looking weird around the campus. They are mostly students after all ;) B (: :t:
