    Wood Peewee ? Southern Ontario

My guess is a juvenile Wood Peewee but none of my books show the eye colour this bird has. Red/dark brown. Other suspects would include gt. crested flycatcher and phoebe also seen in this garden. Thanks Robin

    Osprey mating/ eggs

Thanks so much Delia.......a lot I did not know in the articles. As a a 10yr old lad in Somerset, England, I would have given my as-yet unerupted eye-teeth to have seen a Loch Garten Osprey! And here I am now in Paris, Ontario, living on the Grand River watching these birds fish and a...

    Osprey mating/ eggs

Anybody know how soon after mating you could expect the female to lay and remain on her eggs ? I can observe a nest from my deck (in Southern Ontario) with my Kowa scope. The pair arrived within a day of each other on Saturday. They may have come together, I don't know...

    Fully Leucistic Cardinal

Maybe this gives a better idea of this bird. Essentially white with a very pale brown flush on it's breast....I would have thought fully leucistic, but other than the web site I referenced, I don't know. To see it live was a real jaw-dropper. I was with 2 other experienced...

    Fully Leucistic Cardinal

As in the message title, fully leucistic N.cardinal, female I guess because she is accompanied by a male. I'm calling it this not from personal experience but from this web site. It's the first seriously leucistic bird I've seen but from Sibley's description, if there is a gradation from...
