    Short term, run A mode with the aperture set wide open. Medium term, I customized my 10-30 for use with over the eyepiece adapters, but the universal adapter will work. Long term, the FT1 adapter makes snapping on and using long Nikkors a snap. Battery life is uh ... Really really good.

    Anders, to me it sounds like your scope is pretty well corrected for SA by your description, if your simulated star is useable. You would probably need to boost resolution quite a bit to see the in focus disc. Keep in mind I am not the expert Henry is, however.

    There is a line of Euro riflescopes as well, but these are from the mid level Meopro line and not the top shelf Meostar line. I tested a binocular, riflescope, and the spotter, and all of them showed wonderfully rich contrast which made for impressively saturated views.

    Bruce, The Cabelas scope is the Meopta S2. Cabelas runs a line of Meostar products under their own "Euro" label. The only real difference is the customer would go through Cabelas rather than Meopta USA for warranty. The fact that these products are identical is not a secret that either...

    Nikon ED82A scope - V1 or D300 camera?

    I have used the J1 and V1 for digiscoping, and I think they are well suited for it. With a Nikon ED82, I would look closely at mating up the V1 with the DSA-N1 adapter. Add a DS eyepiece you would have one solid setup!

    It would take some serious metal work/ machining. You would have to machine and adapt the bayonet to a standard astro eyepiece tube. Might be possible.
